The Hope of a Butterfly

While knowing and understanding the representation of the Butterfly for the Baltimore Child Abuse Center, I have created three pieces that characterize HOPE. Hope is found all throughout the growth of one’s life, where in small situations and events seem impossible, the glimmer of hope is what allows us to continue on.

In these three pieces, viewers will be able to see all sizes and shapes of color adding up to become a beautiful butterfly. These abstractions show how small or large an event in one’s life can be, that progresses and merges into the bigger picture of a whole butterfly that combines all the situations but still remains true and beautiful throughout it all.

This piece is designed to inspire the clients and guests of BCAC by the remembrance that even in the hardest of times, there will always be hope that leads to a bigger, brighter, and beautiful future.
